Ajda Pekkan and Selda Bağcan perform a duet of the folk song 'Sivas’ın Yollarına'

Master artist Ajda Pekkan met with her fans at Beşiktaş Tüpraş Stadium.

The concert was hosted by Çağla Şıkel.

Expressing her emotions during the concert, Pekkan stated that she had not felt this nervous even when she first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest, saying, "I will be taking the stage with my very valuable companions. Being with them was my dream. It was meant to be this evening."

THE STORY OF THE FOLK SONG 'SİVAS'IN YOLLARINA'

Once upon a time, a caravan leader from the province of Sivas brought goods from Aleppo. For three whole years, the caravan members had been separated from their homes and their ancestral hearths.

After traveling for months from Aleppo, the caravan members finally managed to reach a ruined Seljuk inn between Sivas and Kayseri on a snowy, stormy winter day. They decided to spend the night at the inn and unloaded their cargo. Since Sivas was very close, the caravan members wanted to reach it as soon as possible and set out at night.

The caravan, which did not account for the storm, was overcome by snow and wind on the road, and they all perished right there. The place where they succumbed to death is called 'Kervankıran' (Caravan-breaker).

And following this event, the people of Anatolia created various folk songs. Poets, non-poets, and anyone who heard the story and felt their heart ache lamented it.

The folk song "Sivas'ın Yolları" was also written based on this event.
