An unusual engagement gift from Şevket Çoruh to his daughter
Gülenay Çoruh, the daughter of Şevket Çoruh and Günay Karacaoğlu, has gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Batuhan. While famous names attended the ceremony, the surprise gift Şevket Çoruh prepared for his daughter left a mark on the night.
Actor Şevket Çoruh and Günay Karacaoğlu’s daughter, Gülenay Çoruh, has gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Batuhan. The ceremony, held at actor İlker Ayrık’s farm in Istanbul, was attended by numerous figures from the worlds of art and theater.
The couple’s engagement rings were placed by master theater actor Müjdat Gezen. The cast of the series “Arka Sokaklar,” in which Çoruh starred for many years, also did not leave the young couple alone at the ceremony.

The most talked-about moment of the night was the gift Şevket Çoruh prepared for his daughter. Choosing a different path instead of the gold or money typically preferred in traditional gift-giving ceremonies, Çoruh first placed a keychain around the necks of his daughter and his future son-in-law.

After a brief moment of confusion, a curtain in the area was opened, revealing Çoruh’s actual gift. It was seen that the actor, known for his passion for motorcycles, had bought his daughter a state-of-the-art motorcycle as an engagement gift.
The surprise gift received applause from those attending the ceremony. Images from the engagement of Gülenay Çoruh and Batuhan also drew attention on social media.
