Ardahan Castle, which has survived from the Middle Ages to the present day, awaits its visitors for Eid al-Fitr
The historic Ardahan Castle, which was restored by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent during the Ottoman period and has survived to the present day, awaits its visitors for Eid al-Fitr.
Cleaning and arrangement work was carried out before the holiday at Ardahan Castle, a symbol of the city, and the historical structures surrounding it.
The Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism continues its efforts to bring Ardahan Castle, located on the banks of the Kura River—which is estimated to date back to the Seljuks and has been under the rule of various kingdoms throughout history—into tourism.
The castle, which was restored by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent during the Ottoman period and has survived to the present day, will host its visitors during Eid al-Fitr.
Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Uğur Dede told an AA reporter that Ardahan Castle is one of the city's most important historical assets.
'WE EXPECT 2 THOUSAND VISITORS WITHIN 3 DAYS'
Stating that they are working to ensure this asset is better known, Dede said, "Visits to Ardahan Castle are increasing every day. We anticipate that this increase will continue during this holiday. We expect approximately 2 thousand people to visit within just three days."
'WE ARE STRIVING'
Expressing that landscaping and cleaning work inside the castle have been completed, Dede shared the information, "The castle is now ready for the holiday. We are striving to ensure that those who want to see the castle leave satisfied. The feedback we receive regarding the environment and maintenance is very positive. Our goal is to introduce our historical castles to larger audiences. In this sense, we will have made a significant contribution to Ardahan tourism."
