Aşkın Nur Yengi: If I had to live on 10,000 TL, I couldn't retire
Aşkın Nur Yengi, an unforgettable name from the 90s, has made headlines with her comments on pensions. The artist said, "If I had to live on 10,000 TL, I couldn't retire. I would continue to practice my profession."
Famous artist Aşkın Nur Yengi was a guest on the program 'Aramızda Kalmasın'.
Expressing her thoughts on why Sezen Aksu, for whom she once worked as a vocalist, has not been performing on stage recently, Yengi said, "She continues to make music and be productive. She might just not want to be on stage. Or perhaps not now, but she might do a documentary or a special concert later. This is a matter of personal preference. It is important to experience some things in moderation. Sezen might be thinking this way. To end this work at a point with its beauty and integrity, or to take a break. It is her personal decision."
'DO A SECOND JOB' THEY SAY
When asked, "Do you have a retirement plan?", the 53-year-old singer replied, "If I am going to receive 10,000 TL, no. If I had to live on 10,000 TL, I couldn't retire. They say, 'Do a second job when you retire.' If I think about a second job, I would have to continue my main profession and treat retirement as a second job."
