Bad news from The Lord of the Rings' Gandalf
Sir Ian McKellen, known for his role as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings, slipped and fell on stage. The 85-year-old actor was taken to the hospital.
Famous actor Sir Ian McKellen lost his balance and fell off the stage during a fight scene in the play Player Kings at the Noël Coward Theatre in London.
While the audience was evacuated from the theatre, the 85-year-old actor was taken to the hospital.
A theatre spokesperson said in a statement that the actor is in good spirits and they expect a full and speedy recovery.
He is known for his roles as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies and Magneto in the X-Men films, as well as his roles in Beauty and the Beast, The Da Vinci Code, and Mr Holmes. The actor also appeared in 10 episodes of the ITV series Coronation Street as Mel Hutchwright.
