Bayhan Gürhan, an unforgettable name from Popstar, one of the most-watched competition programs of its era, was a guest on the program Bir Hülya Avşar Sohbeti, prepared and hosted by Hülya Avşar on YouTube.

Bayhan, who has been widely talked about recently with his rendition of the song 'Tiryakinim' and his new image, made candid statements to Hülya Avşar.

The famous singer explained on the program how he joined Popstar and what he did for a living before becoming famous.

Hülya Avşar asked the famous singer, 'How did you make ends meet when you were on your own?' Bayhan responded to the question.

Listing the jobs he did before becoming famous, Bayhan said, "I did every job to survive. I worked as a waiter's assistant, I worked as a dishwasher. I worked in various places. I even worked as a street vendor to survive."

Bayhan explained how he joined Popstar as follows:

"I had just returned from military service. Actually, my goal was to go abroad. Then one day, I found a television on the street. I took it home; its tube had run out. One of those old wooden televisions... I got the television working; Kanal D was one of the three channels that showed the best at the time... I saw the text 'Turkey is looking for its Popstar' in the commercials. I didn't leave the house for 3 days until the television's gas ran out completely. I was only watching Kanal D. I hadn't applied yet. When the television went out, I turned to the radio. I started writing song lyrics from the radio. I participated in the final auditions in Antalya. I went all the way to the end. I came in 3rd in the final. There were things I didn't know. I thought everything was just about singing, but it wasn't like that. Time passed until I established communication."
