Body language expert reveals: The sign that instantly gives away psychopaths

Humans can display nearly 10,000 facial muscle combinations based on their emotional states. Micro-expression expert Annie Sarnblad has the ability to read these expressions and states that there are specific signs indicating a person could potentially be a psychopath.

Recent violent incidents have frightened everyone. This condition, referred to in medical literature as "antisocial personality disorder (ASPD)," is defined as a disorder that affects a person's emotional responses such as empathy and remorse.

A woman known on TikTok as victhepath, who shares her experiences after being diagnosed with psychopathy, says in a video, "There are emotions that I do not feel at all." These emotions include empathy, love, remorse, and anxiety. Experts report that other symptoms of ASPD include problems with obeying the law and a tendency toward boredom.

Annie Sarnblad is recognized as an expert in reading micro-expressions and holds a Facial Action Coding System (FACS) certification.

Sarnblad, who can numerically code the 10,000 muscle combinations in human facial expressions, explains how a psychopath can be identified as follows:

"If something scares us, for example, when we are startled by a loud noise, we lift our upper eyelids. Normally, people only dilate their pupils when they are scared; other than this situation, we do not tend to pull our eyelids back and hold them there."

Sarnblad emphasizes that psychopaths like to show as much of the whites of their eyes as possible. "In photos of people who have committed heinous crimes, such as Ted Bundy, Hitler, and school shooters, you can often see that their eyelids are lifted and they are showing the whites of their eyes," she says.
