Actor Burak Özçivit responded on his social media account to the criticism directed at him for not attending his sister Burçun Özçivit’s wedding, as well as the backlash over his wife Fahriye Evcen’s vacation posts during that time.

Burçun Özçivit married Hasan Sağdıç in a ceremony held in the Bafra district of Samsun. The absence of Burak Özçivit and Fahriye Evcen at the wedding became a topic of discussion on social media.

An explanation regarding why Özçivit could not attend the ceremony came from his father, Bülent Özçivit. Bülent Özçivit stated that his son could not come to the wedding due to filming in Adana.

Regarding her brother's absence from the wedding, Burçun Özçivit said, "His heart is with us, he couldn't make it, we spoke via video call."

Fahriye Evcen’s absence from the wedding and her sharing posts from a vacation with their children during the same period led to an increase in criticism on social media. Burak Özçivit reacted specifically to the comments made about his wife and family.

"Why are you making a newlywed couple so unhappy when our whole family is happy? They are our family, our loved ones. Who are you attacking and why? Go make your made-up stories and ridiculous comments about your own lives. Leave us and our entire family alone!"
