Cancellation shock for the TV series Kızıl Goncalar

The TV series "Kızıl Goncalar," which tells the story of how the paths of members of a fictional sect called the Faniler cross with those of a secular family, continues to be a subject of debate.

Even though only one episode has aired, paint was thrown at the series' posters, and some sects had launched a campaign to have the show taken off the air.

RTÜK announced that the complaints received regarding the series are being evaluated and that an investigation into Kızıl Goncalar will be launched.

CANCELLATION SHOCK FOR THE TV SERIES KIZIL GONCALAR

Following the successive reactions, a cancellation shock has now hit the Kızıl Goncalar series. According to the news reported by Birsen Altuntaş, the permits obtained on September 8 and 21 for two locations from the Istanbul 1st Regional Directorate of Foundations, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye, have been revoked.

The Directorate announced to the production company, Gold Prodüksiyon Yapımcılık A.Ş., that the filming permits for the Bayrampaşa Madrasa, where the Hanımlar Eğitim ve Kültür Vakfı (HEVKA) is located, and the building of the Istanbul University Faculty of Political Sciences Alumni and Members Foundation (Siyasal Vakfı), both used in the series Kızıl Goncalar, have been revoked, citing public pressure regarding the series and the investigation launched by RTÜK as the reason.

Left in a difficult position by the decision, the series' production company has begun looking for different locations.
