Mesut Yavuz, the famous master of caricature in the Turkish sports press, has passed away.
Mesut Yavuz, who brought a different perspective to events with the cartoons he drew for the sports press and who adorned sports pages with his portraits in particular, has passed away.
'OUR GRIEF IS ENDLESS'
The news of Yavuz's death was announced by Oğuz Tongsir, President of the Turkish Sports Writers Association (TSYD).
TSYD President Tongsir's statement is as follows: "We have lost our friend of 40 years, sports cartoonist and TSYD member Mesut Yavuz. Our grief is endless. May God have mercy on him.
The funeral of sports cartoonist Yavuz will be held tomorrow (Monday, February 12) at Levent Mosque following the noon prayer, and he will be laid to rest at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. May God have mercy on him. Our condolences to our community..."
