The "Cinéma Vérité: The Truth of the Camera" selection, brought to life by the Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation Pera Museum Film and Video Programs (Pera Film) in collaboration with Altyazı, brings together examples of 'Cinéma Vérité' from the USA, France, Canada, Mexico, and Chile for cinema lovers.
On Saturday, January 6, following the screening of the documentary 'The Beautiful May', a talk featuring guest Can Candan will be held.
In the talk moderated by the selection's curator Aslı Ildır, the differences between the "Cinéma Vérité" (Cinema Truth) movement that emerged in France in the early 1960s and the North American-based “Direct Cinema” will be opened for discussion from historical and theoretical perspectives.
