Climber in Italy dies after falling 300 meters during ascent
Renowned climber Monica Reginato (55) lost her life after falling 300 meters while climbing in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a ski resort in northern Italy.
Medical teams reported that the climber had died when they arrived at the scene on Mount Sorapiss in the Dolomites, in the Veneto region.
It was stated that rescue teams had to use a 20-meter crane to recover her body, as the climber had fallen into a crevice hundreds of meters deep.
RECEIVED TREATMENT BUT TO NO AVAIL
Local media reported that her companions were treated for shock.
It was announced that Reginato was an experienced climber who had been an instructor at a mountaineering school for more than 20 years.
