Community stunned: Woman wakes up at her own funeral
In the US, funeral home staff were left in shock after it was discovered that a woman, who had been declared dead and was being prepared for burial, was actually alive.
In the US state of Nebraska, it was discovered that a woman thought to be dead was alive in the funeral home.
74-year-old Constance Glantz, who was reported to have died yesterday at the nursing home where she resided, was transported to a nearby funeral home for burial preparations.
However, a staff member preparing the body noticed that Glantz was breathing, performed CPR on the elderly woman, and called an ambulance.
'AN EXTRAORDINARY EVENT'
It was reported that the woman was taken to the hospital, where she is receiving treatment and remains alive. Lancaster County Sheriff Ben Houchin stated, "This is a very extraordinary event."
An investigation has been launched into the nursing home, but it is not expected that a lawsuit will be filed as there was no evidence of intentional wrongdoing.
