Criminal complaint filed: Hülya Avşar issues statement on Merve Taşkın
Hülya Avşar has responded to accusations of encouraging prostitution following her YouTube program with Merve Taşkın. Avşar stated that her intention was to warn young people.
Hülya Avşar and social media influencer Merve Taşkın were reported to the prosecutor's office over statements made during a YouTube program, with allegations of encouraging prostitution, obscenity, and praising crime. The complaint alleged that during her conversation with Avşar, Taşkın portrayed prostitution as an easy way to earn money and created the perception that it offers a luxurious standard of living.
Following these developments, Hülya Avşar released a statement on her social media account, denying the accusations. Avşar said, "I absolutely do not accept the reports claiming that I encouraged the profession of Merve Taşkın, whom I hosted on my YouTube channel." Avşar emphasized that the purpose of the program was to draw attention to the dangers of social media for young people, stating, "Therefore, there is no encouragement involved; on the contrary, there is a warning. For this reason, what I actually expect is a thank you."
Meanwhile, the criminal complaint also requested that access to the video be blocked. Allegations that Avşar supported Taşkın were also included in the complaint.
