Sabahat Akkiraz, one of the prominent names in Turkish Folk Music, drew attention to the recent rise in street gangs, emphasizing that these gangs threaten public safety. Akkiraz warned that if street gangs are not brought under control, society will become increasingly insecure.
Recalling the example in America, Akkiraz used the following expressions:
"First Ahmet Minguzzi, now Hakan Çakır... As street gangs continue to rise, they threaten social peace, and it becomes harder for us to be safe. In America, street gangs were not stopped, and now there are almost cities that are no-go zones. If we ignore this situation, none of us will be safe."
