Dark star to co-star with Ayça Ayşin Turan

German actor Louis Hofmann, who made his big breakthrough with the character Jonas Kahnwald in the popular Netflix science fiction series Dark, is also known for productions such as Land of Mine, Red Sparrow, and Center of My World. Now, he is preparing to appear before audiences in a significant project in Turkish cinema.

Al Beni Baba follows the dramatic events experienced by a young woman named Nazlı. Ayça Ayşin Turan, whom we have previously seen in productions such as The Protector, Ada Masalı, and Arıza, will portray the character of Nazlı, who falls into the hands of a terrorist organization after falling in love with a German man named Stefan.

In the film, Nazlı's parents will be played by successful actors Ayça Bingöl and Erkan Petekkaya.

CANDIDATE FOR THE STEFAN CHARACTER

Negotiations with Louis Hofmann to play the character of Stefan are nearing completion. Hofmann, who is known worldwide especially for the character Jonas he brought to life in the German Netflix series Dark, is preparing to provide a strong international contribution to the project.

Louis Hofmann most recently appeared in the film Lilies Not for Me, which met with audiences last year.

The screenplay for Al Beni Baba is written by Sinem Uslu and Mustafa Uslu, while Ahmet Topuz takes on the role of director. The production is being handled by KEM Yapım, led by Kemalhan Balçık.

PROMINENT NAMES IN THE CAST

The cast offered for Al Beni Baba includes names such as Rüzgâr Aksoy, Mehmet Özgür, Murat Serezli, Bahtiyar Engin, Macit Koper, and Burç Kümbertlioğlu. Additionally, Helena Zengel, who starred alongside Tom Hanks in the film News of the World, is also expected to join the project.

Filming is planned to begin in July. Some scenes of the production will be shot in Germany, while the remaining parts will be filmed in the Turkish city of Çorum. Decor and set preparations are still ongoing.

While Al Beni Baba stands out with its cast consisting of both local and foreign actors, the project is expected to gain an international dimension with the inclusion of Louis Hofmann.
