Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek has passed away
American actor James Van Der Beek, the lead of the series “Dawson’s Creek,” which reached a large audience during its broadcast in Turkey, has passed away.
The news of James Van Der Beek's death was announced by his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, in a post on social media.
In her Instagram message, Kimberly Van Der Beek stated that her husband spent his final days with “courage, faith, and grace,” adding, “There is so much more to share about his love for humanity and the sanctity of time. Those days will come. For now, we ask for privacy as we mourn our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.”
Van Der Beek had announced in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer.
In an Instagram post dated November 3, 2024, he had said, “I’ve been privately dealing with this. I am receiving treatment and focusing on my overall health more than ever. We are grateful for the love and support shown to my family.”
The 48-year-old actor had occasionally shared his battle with cancer with his followers on social media.
