Defne Samyeli clearly states her political stance: "I am a nationalist and a Kemalist"
Famous personality Defne Samyeli clearly expressed her political views during a broadcast she appeared on as a guest. Stating that she comes from a military family, Samyeli declared that she is a Kemalist and a nationalist.
Defne Samyeli, a former presenter, model, and singer who has been on screen for years, recently participated in a program broadcast on YouTube. Samyeli made significant statements regarding both her private life and her political identity. Providing examples from her own lifestyle and background, Samyeli shared her thoughts on her country with the audience.
Speaking on the program, Samyeli conveyed her political identity with the following sentences: "Yes, I am a nationalist. I am a soldier's child, after all; we are Kemalists to the last drop of our blood, and God willing, we will die that way." With these expressions, she underscored her commitment to Kemalist values.
Furthermore, expressing her feelings toward politics through an incident she experienced on a television program in the past, Samyeli emphasized the disappointment she felt with the words: "I became very resentful toward this country. They were able to discard a person like me, a soldier's child and a Kemalist, in a single day just for the sake of being in opposition. Unfortunately, the democratic and Western style of politics I dream of does not exist in Turkey."
Touching upon issues that have occasionally come to the fore throughout her career and the processes she has gone through, Samyeli also highlighted that she feels the difficulties of being in the public eye. Samyeli's candid statements quickly found a wide echo on social media.
Samyeli spoke on the YouTube channel of famous entrepreneur İzzet Çapa.
