Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat respond to money laundering allegations

Phenomenon Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat are constantly in the news for their luxurious lifestyles. Most recently, Polat caused a stir when she said, "Sometimes I spend 750 thousand TL a day in a shopping mall."

The Polat family, whose earnings are frequently discussed on social media, is now facing allegations of money laundering. While Engin Polat, who became a trending topic on social media, was being discussed, Dilan Polat appeared as a guest on Armağan Çağlayan's program.

Dilan Polat said, "I have been living the life they find strange since I was little. My father had a gas station; I am not 'nouveau riche.' On my mother's side, there are people who are among Turkey's wealthy businesspeople. Before my mother passed away, three women worked in our house. My father killed my mother in one night, and everything changed."

Dilan Polat explained how she became wealthy, saying, "People cannot believe that money can be earned, and I cannot believe that either. People can earn by working. I did not come from a very wealthy family and marry a rich person; we were very young. My uncle provided my husband with great business opportunities and presented him with major projects. That is how we earned and saved money. We earned a lot of money from birth photography; I left that sector. I opened a beauty center, I believed in it a lot, but... We always took smart and good steps; we produced the devices inside ourselves and sold them."

Phenomenon Dilan Polat also said the following regarding the allegations of money laundering:

"Where does this money come from? I have 130 branches, and I sell 1 million products in a month. People say this; they say how did this money come all of a sudden, they are laundering money from somewhere. I don't know, but if someone were operating money differently from somewhere, stealing or embezzling, wouldn't these people explode all of a sudden within 1 month, 2 months, 3 months? For 6 years, we have climbed these stairs one by one with blood, sweat, and tears."
