Cinematographer and documentary filmmaker Koray Kesik was detained during a police raid on his home in İzmir. MLSA has filed an objection to the detention proceedings of documentary filmmaker Koray Kesik.
Cinematographer and documentary filmmaker Koray Kesik was detained at his home in İzmir during the night. With no information available regarding the charges against him, the MLSA Legal Unit will be present in İzmir to support Kesik's defense.
MLSA lawyers have demanded that their client be released immediately or referred to the prosecutor's office along with his file to provide a statement. The appeal also requested the cancellation of search, seizure, and examination warrant decisions, the removal of restrictions on meeting with his defense counsel, and the lifting of restrictions on reviewing the case file.
WHO IS KORAY KESİK?
Kesik was born in Giresun in 1971. He began his career in 1993 as an assistant at the VTR Research Production Management company.
Possessing extensive experience in the fields of documentaries, oral history, promotional films, and commercials, Kesik has continued to work independently as a cinematographer on documentary films with various directors since 2008.
