Doğukan Güngör removed from 'Kızılcık Şerbeti' series: First statement released

Doğukan Güngör has been removed from the series 'Kızılcık Şerbeti.'

According to a report by journalist Birsen Altuntaş, Doğukan Güngör, whose hair and blood test results were announced today revealing traces of cannabis and cocaine, has been removed from the show's cast.

Following the channel's decision not to feature an actor found to have used prohibited substances, it was learned that the scenes filmed today featuring Doğukan Güngör will not be used.

It was also stated that a search for a new actor to replace Güngör, whose scenes in the promotional material have also been removed, is underway.

STATEMENT FROM GÜNGÖR

Güngör released a statement on his social media account, saying:

"I have just learned that I have been removed from the series titled Kızılcık Şerbeti, which I have worked on with great enthusiasm for 4 seasons, due to the decision taken by the Show TV management following recent events.

I HAD DEDICATED MYSELF TO MY WORK

Everyone can make mistakes in this life, and I have sincerely and honestly explained both to the Prosecutor's Office and to the public that I made a mistake, but that I have now turned away from this mistake and am very regretful, and I had taken the first steps toward a clean life. With the belief that there is good in every evil, I had dedicated myself entirely to my work after this latest incident and had promised myself to lead a clean life.

But with this bad news I received suddenly this evening, I, like everyone else, have witnessed how ruthless some people and institutions can be when making decisions. Yet, I am neither the first nor the last person to make a mistake in this life.

I LEAVE THEM TO GOD

I leave these ruthless people and institutions, who do not hold the belief that everyone deserves a second chance, alone with their consciences, and I leave them to God.

However, I would like to clearly state to the public that I am standing tall, and by keeping the promise of a clean life I made to myself, I will be with you, my fans, again very soon in better projects.

I would like to thank all my friends, dear fans, and my dear family who have stood by me and not withheld their love during these bad days. I am glad you exist.."
