Dubai Princess divorces her husband via Instagram
Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra announced her divorce from her husband in a post on Instagram. By using the triple talaq phrase to declare the divorce, Mahra caused a major stir on social media.
Sheikha Mahra, the daughter of the current ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, announced her divorce from her husband in a post on her Instagram account on Wednesday.
The post, made from the verified Instagram account of Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, states that she is ending her marriage:
"Dear Husband, as you are occupied with others, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you! Take care. Your ex-wife."

NO OFFICIAL STATEMENT MADE
Sheikha Mahra's husband, Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, and her father, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, have not yet made any official statement regarding the matter. The Dubai government's media office did not immediately comment on the Instagram post.
Mahra and her husband had been married since April 2023. Five months after their wedding ceremony, they announced they were expecting their first child. In May, she had shared several photos with her husband and their newborn child.
As of July 18, the princess has removed all photos of her husband from her Instagram page.
