Ediz Hun: 'Yeşilçam cinema is over'

Attending the Cyprus Martyrs Commemoration and Veterans Meeting Program in the TRNC, Ediz Hun met with the families of martyrs and veterans. The artist also answered questions during a talk organized by the Girne American University Faculty of Communication.

Speaking to members of the press after the talk, Hun discussed Yeşilçam cinema. The 84-year-old artist noted that only a few names remain from those years:

"Yeşilçam cinema is over, it no longer exists. We are the last ones left. Unfortunately, there will be no one left after us because time is passing. I am the fourth oldest actor. The first is Ahmet Mekin, born in 1932. Then there is İzzet Günay, he is a very polite man, he is from 1934. Göksel Arsoy is from 1936. I am from 1940. After me, only Kadir İnanır remains. Tarık Akan has passed away, there is no one else left. As for the ladies, there are Türkan Şoray, Hülya Koçyiğit, and Filiz Akın."
