Emotional farewell from Türkan Şoray to Kadir İnanır: 'He will always be in my heart'
Yeşilçam legend Türkan Şoray, speaking at an event in Sultangazi, said of the late Kadir İnanır, "Our pain is truly very fresh. It is a huge loss for Turkish cinema."
The guest of the Summer Cinema Night and Talk event organized by the Sultangazi Municipality was the unforgettable name of Yeşilçam, Türkan Şoray. During the program held at the Sultangazi Municipality Event Area, Şoray answered questions about cinema and her career. After the talk, she watched the film 'Sultan', in which she starred, together with the citizens. Sultangazi Mayor Abdurrahman Dursun also attended the program.
"OUR PAIN IS TRULY VERY FRESH"
Speaking at the program, Türkan Şoray expressed her sorrow over the death of Kadir İnanır, stating, "First of all, I greet my dear fellow residents of Sultangazi with all my heart. Whenever the name Sultangazi was mentioned, I always thought about visiting one day; it was meant to be today. You are here today, you came and made me very happy. Thank you very much for being here. Actually, when I promised to be here with you, this painful event had not yet occurred. Our pain is truly very fresh. It is a huge loss for Turkish cinema, his friends, companions, and colleagues. But I am sure that he will always be in your hearts as well. He will always be in my heart, may he rest in peace," she said.

"MY AUDIENCE IS ALWAYS MY CROWN JEWEL"
Continuing her speech, Şoray emphasized the importance her audience holds for her, saying, "We are experiencing the deep sorrow of losing Kadir İnanır. That is why we are sad. May he rest in peace. My audience is always my crown jewel. My respect for them is infinite, which is why I always take care to greet them standing. I am glad I came; I am very happy to be here with you."
"IF YOU WANT TO SEE ME, I WILL COME TO THE OPENING"
Speaking about the Sultan City Culture Island and Cinema Museum, which is currently under construction, Şoray stated that she finds the project valuable, adding, "The Cinema Museum is a truly precious endeavor. I will help as much as I can. If you want to see me, I will come to the opening," she said.
Taking the floor during the program, Sultangazi Mayor Abdurrahman Dursun said, "Not just for me, but when we think of cinema, the first name that comes to mind is Türkan Şoray. We are happy to host the giant name of Yeşilçam here. We lost Kadir İnanır, and we know that Ms. Türkan is grieving. Despite that, she did not turn us down and came," he stated.
