Emre Altuğ's critique of Yalı Çapkını: 'The script suffers when it drags on too long'

The series Yalı Çapkını, starring Afra Saraçoğlu and Mert Ramazan Demir, has struggled to maintain the high ratings it achieved in its first two seasons. While it has been claimed that the finale date was postponed due to international sales, Emre Altuğ, one of the show's actors, made comments that echoed the sentiments of the audience.

HE SHARED HIS CRITICISMS!

Emre Altuğ, who plays the character Orhan in Yalı Çapkını, spoke on Saba Tümer's program about his return to the show after his character was killed off:

“I died and came back to life. I thought I was dead too, then I got a call. I said, 'I know how I died, my soul literally left my body.' They hadn't thought of it that way; we were about to shoot the final scene on the last day of the season, but they didn't send the final scene. Even the people on set didn't know. It happened 3 weeks later, and it was a surprise to everyone.

Expressing his criticism toward the producer, Emre Altuğ said, "We have a very pleasant time on set, and one wants to be there until the very end. However, whatever the script requires is the producer's decision. If they have such a plan, it applies to me as well. Still, when there is such a happy environment on set, one is more open to the idea of returning," he said.

Furthermore, criticizing the fact that the show's script focuses heavily on Afra Saraçoğlu and Mert Ramazan Demir, he stated, "They are doing a really difficult job, I have to say that. I experienced a similar situation in the past. When a script is built entirely around one or two characters and side stories are not developed enough, it pushes the leads into a superhuman effort," he expressed.

“THESE KIDS HAVE BEEN LIVING THIS FOR 3 YEARS!”

This becomes very exhausting, and these kids have been living this for 3 years. There were many plot lines, for example; that is the only thing I complain about. I believe those stories need to be opened up, but that is the producer's discretion. It goes however they want it to, but when it goes heavily on a single plot line, it becomes very exhausting."

When Saba Tümer asked about the finale, the actor and singer Altuğ said, "The time for the show's finale has come," adding, "Let this season end now, of course, I suppose it is ending, that's what was announced to us too. When it drags on too long, the script also starts to deteriorate."
