Erdal Bakkal speaks out: Cengiz Bozkurt's 'Leyla ile Mecnun' confession!

Cengiz Bozkurt, the lead actor of Tolga Örnek's film Mucize Aynalar, was a guest on Birsen Altuntaş's YouTube channel alongside his co-star Boran Kuzum.

The master actor also spoke about the series Leyla ile Mecnun, in which he brought the character of Erdal Bakkal to life.

"THERE WILL BE NO CONTINUATION"

Bozkurt responded to the question of whether a 5th season of the series would be filmed. Stating that he did not want to speak too definitively, Bozkurt said of the Leyla ile Mecnun series, "There will be no continuation."

Cengiz Bozkurt used the following expressions:

"Leyla ile Mecnun was filmed for 40 episodes on Exxen. 4 seasons of 10 episodes each... It stayed there, there will be no continuation. I don't want to speak too definitively. I had actually said 'We won't do it' before, and it was as if we had gone back on our word. We filmed it at the insistence of our friends. Actually, I thought it shouldn't be filmed, but I couldn't resist the intense demand..."

"MY HEART DOESN'T ALLOW IT"

Remembering Köksal Engür, the 'Aksakallı Dede' (White-Bearded Grandfather) of the legendary series who passed away on March 26 last year, the master actor said, "We filmed 40 episodes, but I am still one of those who think that the first 'Leyla ile Mecnun' episodes we made 11 years ago should remain in the archive as they are, and that we shouldn't do anything else on top of them. I still think we won't do it... Because, frankly, my heart doesn't allow it... After Köksal Engür passed away, I think we should leave it where it is..."
