Best Model of Turkey founder Erkan Özerman has passed away in Istanbul at the age of 86. Özerman's will has been revealed: "I do not want a ceremony. Cremate me after I die."
Best Model of Turkey founder, producer, organizer, and talent manager Erkan Özerman has passed away.
The news of the 86-year-old's death, who had been battling cancer for some time, was announced by his family.
FUNERAL CEREMONY DETAILS ANNOUNCED
The famous organizer's body will be taken from the Zincirlikuyu morgue on Thursday, February 15, at 10:00 AM, transported to the Uzuntarla Cemetery in İzmit, and buried following the funeral prayer.
The statement noted that those who wish to bid farewell to Özerman before he is laid to rest may come to the front of the morgue at 10:00 AM.
HIS WILL REVEALED
Meanwhile, it has emerged that the famous organizer had made statements regarding his will in an interview he gave before his death.
Özerman had said, "Do not hold any ceremony at Teşvikiye Mosque, I do not want it. Send me off without a ceremony. Cremate me after I die."
WHO IS ERKAN ÖZERMAN?
Erkan Özerman (born November 4, 1938, Istanbul) was a Turkish producer, organizer, and talent manager.
He graduated from Galatasaray High School, the University of Paris VIII Faculty of Sociology, and the Paris Institute of Political Studies.
He worked as a film and theater critic and a magazine columnist for various newspapers. He also served as the director of entertainment programs at Ankara Radio.
He was the president of the 1st International Istanbul Pop Music Festival in 1976, president of the French-Turkish Friendship Association in 1979, founding president of Best Model of Turkey and Best Model of the World in 1989, and founding president of the Sportive Ballroom Dance Association in 2001.
Erkan Özerman passed away in Istanbul on February 13, 2024.
