Eurovision call to TRT from Demet Akalın
Famous singer Demet Akalın has reached out to TRT, proposing to participate in Eurovision with the track 'Yerinde Dur'.
Famous pop singer Demet Akalın wants to bring the success of the song 'Yerinde Dur', which she performed with rapper Sefo, to the Eurovision stage. Tagging TRT on social media, Akalın stated that she is considering participating in the contest with this song: "I'm saying we should enter Eurovision with 'Yerinde Dur', I think you should consider it..."
Turkey last participated in Eurovision in 2012 with Can Bonomo and finished the contest in seventh place.
In a recent interview, Demet Akalın expressed her satisfaction with the success achieved by the song 'Yerinde Dur'. Stating that the song has ranked high on charts both in Turkey and globally, Akalın said, "I am very happy and proud. With a great collaboration, our song left its mark on the summer. It is still continuing to break records. Therefore, I can say we are drunk on happiness."
When asked if she would want to take part in such a platform if Turkey were to participate in Eurovision again, Akalın replied, "I'm not saying I wouldn't think about it or participate. If the song we choose is in Turkish, I could say why not?"
