Eviction crisis in Beyoğlu! Famous director Uluç Bayraktar files lawsuit against his tenant

According to a report by Armağan Yılmaz from Sabah, Uluç Bayraktar has filed an eviction lawsuit against Lara Ö., who pays 20,000 lira in rent. The case will be heard in court in the coming days.

Famous director Uluç Bayraktar rented his apartment in Beyoğlu to Lara Ö. in 2016. Tenant Lara Ö. continued to pay 20,000 lira in rent last March, increasing the rental amount by 25 percent.

EVICTION LAWSUIT AGAINST TENANT

When Lara Ö. did not vacate the apartment belonging to Bayraktar, the famous director headed to the courthouse. Uluç Bayraktar filed an eviction lawsuit against his tenant on the grounds that he is being victimized by paying 105,000 lira per month for the house he currently rents.

In the petition he submitted to the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace, Bayraktar stated that he himself lives in a rented house, has no other apartment, and that his tenant has not vacated the house despite his request to do so. He noted that he has been put in a difficult position by the 105,000 lira monthly rent he pays, that he continues to pay high rent because the house has not been vacated, and that he was forced to file the lawsuit due to his own need for the property.

The case will be heard in the Istanbul Civil Court of Peace in the coming days.
