Evrim Akın responds to allegations through tears: 'Character assassination'

Actress Evrim Akın responded through tears to the allegations of psychological pressure raised by Asena Keskinci, who starred in the popular TV series "Bez Bebek." Evrim Akın stated, "It is impossible to describe the pain I am feeling today. This is a character assassination."

Asena Keskinci, known for the children's series Bez Bebek which aired between 2007 and 2010, began her acting career with the character "Yağmur." Keskinci made striking claims in a video she shared about Evrim Akın on social media.

Having been on the set of the series at a young age, Asena Keskinci stated that Evrim Akın frequently argued during filming and treated her negatively. Emphasizing that it was a difficult period, Keskinci alleged that Akın had said to her, "Your parents are getting a divorce, right... What if I get you fired from the show? Will you be left on the streets?"

In her statements, Asena Keskinci claimed that Akın was influential in the divorce process of her parents. Keskinci said, "She went to my mother and said, 'Give me your husband's number, I will reconcile you,' and took my father's number. This woman became my stepmother. They are still together, living in the same house," she said.

EVRİM AKIN RESPONDS THROUGH TEARS

Evrim Akın responded to the allegations against her in a press conference. Making statements through tears, Akın said:

- "Those who know me know how sensitive I am regarding the rights of women, children, and animals... It is impossible to describe the pain I am feeling today. This is a character assassination.

- I see that it is relentless. My career and my team's careers are being toyed with. I am not speaking because I have been trying to process this for 10 days. Where, to whom, and what did I do, other than kindness...

- I did not ask for anyone's spouse's phone number. There is already proof of this in social media correspondence.

- I did not blow smoke in anyone's face. I would never do that to a child, nor would I let anyone else do it. They already had their own private rooms where they sat with their mothers. Smoking on set is also prohibited.

- If I wanted to harm Asena, why would I ask my manager to support her?"

"MY ONLY CRIME IS DOING GOOD"

- "If I am such a bad person, why did she appear on the same programs as me? Why did she send me messages on social media starting with 'I love you' and saying, 'I'm wearing these clothes, Evrim sister, how do they look?' She celebrated my birthdays... Her mother also has messages.

- I don't know if there is a PR campaign involved. My only crime is doing good.

- Asena's parents divorced in 2008. I didn't see her much on set. She sent a message via Twitter in 2011. Her father. She gave his number for the first time in 2012. Then we talked as friends. In 2020 or 2021, she wrote me a message expressing her feelings.

- I was surprised and threw the phone away, thinking how could such a thing be. Six months later, I called her, thinking 'What is her problem?' Then she told me her feelings, and yes, we have been together for 3 years without interruption. I did not break up anyone's home, nor did I take him away from his daughter. I already had a relationship at that time. Everyone on set knew it.

- It is impossible for me to bully anyone on set. Let's say I did; there were dozens of people working there. Would they allow such a thing? First of all, there was Tan Sağtürk... You know he works with children. Wouldn't he have intervened if he saw something like what is being described? There was the late Oya Aydoğan; would she have remained silent if she had witnessed such a thing?

- I have never felt this sad and helpless. Because slander is a very bad thing, and I am experiencing it for the first time."

STATEMENT FROM ASENA KESKİNCİ'S LAWYER

Asena Keskinci's lawyer, Feyza Altun, made a new statement regarding the matter. In a post shared while Evrim Akın was giving her statement, Altun expressed the following:

- "As anyone who has been subjected to emotional and physical violence knows very well, it takes years to process these traumas; to accept and express them from time to time. And a single triggering event causes you to shout everything out.

- My client, with these factors in mind, made her decision to share with the public the actions she was subjected to by Evrim Akın in her childhood with sincere feelings, and she has told nothing but the truth.

- For it is clear that while this incident could even damage the career of my client, who is a promising young actress, it has left irreparable wounds in her soul, and she has decided to speak the truth due to this pain she has experienced.

- In short, as there is no lawsuit filed against my client yet, we present to the public our determination to reveal the truth before the law, rather than through statements made without shedding a single tear."
