Famous artist Frank Ifield has passed away
World-renowned Australian singer Frank Ifield has passed away at the age of 86. It was reported that Ifield died due to age-related illnesses.
The death of musician Frank Ifield was announced by his friend, music historian and journalist Glenn A. Baker.
It was stated that Frank passed away in his sleep.
ABOUT FRANK IFIELD
Frank Ifield was born on November 30, 1937. Growing up in the Sydney suburb of Dural, Ifield had an interest in country music and singing from a young age. After receiving a guitar from his grandmother at the age of 13, the young prodigy taught himself to play and began writing songs.
By the age of 9, the artist had released 44 records and became the top artist in Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania.
The artist took his career to an international level in 1959, moving to London and becoming a household name in the United Kingdom. In 1965, he performed before Queen Elizabeth II at the Royal Variety Show.
He starred in his own film, Up Jumped a Swagman, and in 2009, he received the Medal of the Order of Australia for his contributions to the arts.
Frank Ifield passed away on May 20, 2024.
