Michael Ward, the former guitarist of the band The Wallflowers, has passed away at the age of 57. Ward, who performed in more than 50 countries throughout his music career, had been nominated for a Grammy award 5 times.
Minnesota-born guitarist Michael Ward has passed away at the age of 57.
Ward was the former guitarist for The Wallflowers. He performed with the band between 1995 and 2001.
The band members announced the sad news on their Facebook accounts.
The statement said, "His contributions to music began before his time with The Wallflowers and continued long after. Rest in peace now, Mike."
WHO IS MICHAEL WARD?
Michael Ward, who performed in more than 50 countries, was nominated for a Grammy award 5 times. In 1998, he won the award for Best Rock Performance with The Wallflowers' hit song "One Headlight."
The famous guitarist, who also won an NAACP Image Award in 2005, was among the founding members of the alternative rock band School of Fish in the early 90s.
