While the boycott quickly became a trending topic, the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into those spreading the call, citing charges of 'hate and discrimination' and 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility.'

'WE ARE SORRY, WE ARE CLOSED'

Somer Sivrioğlu, one of the jury members of MasterChef Turkey, which airs on TV8, was among those who supported the boycott.

Sivrioğlu, who operates a restaurant in Istanbul's Beşiktaş district, made a statement on his Instagram account saying, 'We are sorry, we are closed.'

On the other hand, actress Aybüke Pusat, who supported the boycott, was removed from the cast of the TRT production 'Teşkilat.' TRT General Manager Zahid Sobacı, in a statement on the X platform, described the boycott as a 'call initiated by a political group for its own political goals' and stated that 'supporting this clearly contradicts TRT's principles, its understanding of public broadcasting, and professional standards.'
