Famous Russian painter captivated by Mount Nemrut
World-renowned Russian painter Aleksandr Shadrin expressed his admiration for Mount Nemrut, which he visited with his wife.
Famous painter Aleksandr Shadrin, while in Ankara for his own exhibition, took the opportunity to visit Nemrut, a place he had dreamed of for years, accompanied by Aygül Okutan, a painter and art project organizer who is a citizen of Tatarstan.
Famous painter Aleksandr Shadrin stated in his remarks,
"I have been waiting for the right time to fulfill my dream of coming to Nemrut for years. During my middle school years, I developed a great interest in Mesopotamia and Commagene. I set aside two days from my exhibition in Ankara for Nemrut. Climbing Nemrut in this season is a different feeling, a completely different beauty. I have such intense feelings inside for Nemrut that I need to think calmly about what I can do, when I should start, and where I should exhibit the drawings I will create so that they provide the maximum contribution to Commagene," he said. Aygül Okutan, the only person who organizes art events between Turkey, Russia, and Tatarstan, said, "Last year, I made drawings of the Antiochos and eagle statues at Nemrut. Our visit this time is to create drawings at Nemrut within the framework of a detailed program and to exhibit them in a magnificent way."
