İBRAHİM TATLISES: HE WAS THE PRINCE OF ARABESQUE

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER ERSOY

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, who made a statement at the ceremony, said, "It is very difficult to put such a loss into words. People of an era found relief with his songs, talked and understood through him. Now, come and try to put Ferdi Tayfur into words, to express him properly. Sometimes a name is too heavy for words. I think Ferdi Tayfur can only be described this way. It can never be seen as a coincidence that Arabesque culture is so widely accepted by our people and that Ferdi Tayfur is placed in a special place within it. This noble nation does not accept everyone as one of their own family. Admiration is something different. Accepting with love and respect is an endorsement of the artist's greatness. His voice was beautiful, his songs were beautiful, but most importantly, his stance before his people was beautiful. May God have mercy on him. I say my condolences to his family and his companions, and I wish them patience. May he rest in peace."

"WE ALWAYS LOVED EACH OTHER VERY MUCH"

Orhan Gencebay said, "He did many good things in this world. He was my very close friend, my brother. In the 70s, they had divided us too: as 'Ferdici' (Ferdi fans) and 'Orhancı' (Orhan fans). But we always loved each other very much. We were very good friends. Ferdi Tayfur performed his duty in this realm exceptionally well." After his speech, Gencebay left the podium and kissed Ferdi Tayfur's coffin.

FREE TRANSPORTATION FROM IN FRONT OF AKM

There is practically a crush to bid farewell to Ferdi Tayfur. It was announced that free transportation is provided from in front of the AKM to the cemetery.

On the other hand, security measures were taken from the early hours of the morning for the funeral ceremony to be held at the Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha Mosque.

The crowd at this location is also growing.
