Fashion world legend Giorgio Armani passes away at 91

Italian fashion designer and founder of the fashion empire bearing his own name, Giorgio Armani, has passed away at the age of 91. The news of his death was announced to the public by Armani's company.

HE HAD MISSED FASHION SHOWS DUE TO HEALTH ISSUES

Armani, one of the biggest names in the fashion world, had been unable to attend fashion shows held in both Milan and Paris recently due to health problems he was experiencing. 

HE WAS PREPARING TO HAND OVER HIS DUTIES

Speaking to the Financial Times newspaper recently, Armani had announced that he was considering gradually handing over his duties due to health issues. Armani had stated that his closest colleagues and family members would take on responsibilities during this process.

The company issued a press release regarding the development announced by the Armani Group. The statement announcing Armani's death included the following remarks:

Tireless until his last breath, Armani worked until his final days, dedicating himself to the company, the collections, and many ongoing and future projects.

FUNERAL CEREMONY TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 6-7

The funeral ceremony will be open at the Armani/Teatro at Via Bergognone 59 in Milan from Saturday, September 6, to Sunday, September 7, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. In accordance with Mr. Armani's explicit wish, the funeral service will be private."
