Fethiye opens its doors to the magical world of Yeşilçam

The 3rd Fethiye International Film Festival has brought cinema enthusiasts together this year not only with new films but also with a magnificent exhibition that sheds light on the legendary era of Turkish cinema.

Journalist and photographer Ömer Balıksırtı's rare 40-year archive has met cinema lovers in Fethiye with the 'Yeşilçam Set Photographs Exhibition'.

The exhibition, which crowned the opening of the festival, turned the Fethiye Municipality Culture House into a living history of cinema. Curated by Serkan Beşe, the exhibition showcased the set environments of 1980s and 90s Yeşilçam, behind-the-scenes moments of actors, and the filming processes of unforgettable movies.

LIVING HISTORICAL NARRATIVES

In a special panel held after the opening of the exhibition, the owner of the archive, Ömer Balıksırtı, met with art lovers and shared the stories behind these precious frames firsthand.

Art enthusiasts had the opportunity to hear interesting anecdotes from the filming of many movies, from Arabesk to Karartma Geceleri, and from Berdel to Arkadaşım Şeytan, as well as the technical challenges of the period and the unforgettable relationships between actors and directors.
