In his statement, Tayyar Öz said, "Our legal department is currently gathering the necessary evidence. So far, all news reports, except for the surname change, are based on slander and defamation. Of course, there will be a reckoning for these as well. Please do not believe anything you hear. Hopefully, justice will be served."

While Özlem Öz stated that their followers do not believe these claims anyway, her husband made a reference to the Polat couple by saying, "Do not put us in the same category as anyone else."

Tayyar Öz also responded to the question regarding his alleged dismissal from FETÖ, saying, "This is also slander. We said the house we live in is rented and we shared the contract. The FETÖ events broke out in 2016. I was an assistant doctor at that time; we performed many surgeries day and night. I resigned in 2021."
