Film about the life of Barış Manço has been cancelled

It has emerged that the film project intended to tell the life story of Barış Manço, one of the unforgettable names in Turkish music, has been cancelled. Famous actor Ekin Koç, who was announced to play Manço in the film, said, "I wasn't very surprised; it was a very costly project. I think even setting out to make it was crazy enough. I think it has been shelved again."

IT WAS NOT A RISK WORTH TAKING

Preparations were underway for a film about the life of Barış Manço, who passed away on February 1, 1999, but it has been stated that the film project has been cancelled. Actor Ekin Koç, who was announced to play Manço in the film, spoke about the cancellation of the project. Stating that the project was very costly, Koç said the following:

"Honestly, I wasn't very surprised; it was a very costly project. It was very challenging in terms of production, covering Barış Manço's 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, and very challenging in terms of locations. Having Belgium and France legs was very challenging. Especially, it was not a risk worth taking. I think even setting out to make it was crazy enough. I think it has been shelved again. Perhaps it could be revisited under better conditions, why not?"
