Finland tops the happiness list, Afghanistan at the bottom! Where does Turkey rank?

According to the IMF's 2023 Happiness Report, Finland was chosen as the happiest country, even though it does not have the highest income per capita. Afghanistan, in the shadow of war and chaos, ranked at the bottom of the list as the unhappiest country.

IMF's 2023 Happiness Report, which served as the basis for the report titled 'Can Money Buy Happiness', states that GDP was used to determine the happiest and unhappiest countries in the world. The report notes that while developed countries generally rank among the happiest, there are exceptions.

While it is observed that countries with high GDP per capita generally lead the happiness list, some exceptional cases were also identified. For example, it was stated that although Singapore ranks second in GDP per capita, it failed to enter the top 20 in the happiness ranking.

The ranking of the 10 happiest countries is as follows:

Finland (7.80)

Denmark (7.59)

Iceland (7.53)

Israel (7.47)

Sweden (7.40)

Netherlands (7.40)

Norway (7.32)

Luxembourg (7.23)

New Zealand (7.12)

Austria (7.10)

The three unhappiest countries were stated to be those where war and chaos continue. These countries were announced as Sierra Leone (3.14), Lebanon (2.39), and Afghanistan (1.86), respectively.

Turkey was stated to be in 106th place on this list, with a score of 4.61.
