First message from İlker Canikligil after his release
Director İlker Canikligil, who was arrested and subsequently released on charges of 'publicly inciting hatred and enmity,' shared a message on his social media account stating, "Thank you very much for all the messages and support. I want to stay away from my phone for a while."
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into director İlker Canikligil over remarks made in a video he published on YouTube, accusing him of "publicly inciting to commit a crime" and "publicly inciting the public to hatred and enmity."
The director, who was being held in custody, was released on the condition of a travel ban and a signature requirement.
Sharing his gratitude for all the support messages on the social media platform, Canikligil's post is as follows:
"Yes, I'm back. Thank you very much for all the messages and support. I want to stay away from my phone for a while, and it is impossible for me to thank everyone individually, but see you tomorrow on Habersizler!"
