Following her former husband Reza Zarrab, famous artist Ebru Gündeş's second husband, Murat Özdemir, has also been detained on charges of membership in an organized criminal group. Özdemir was taken by police from his villa in Acarkent.

ACCUSATION OF CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION MEMBERSHIP
Murat Özdemir was detained by teams from the Organized Crime Bureau at his villa in Acarkent, one of Istanbul's luxury neighborhoods. It is alleged that Özdemir was detained on charges of being a member of Selahattin Yılmaz's criminal organization. It is stated that Özdemir received instructions from the organization to "seize" organized industrial zones.
The arrest of Murat Özdemir's wife Ebru Gündeş's former husband, the famous businessman Reza Zarrab, in the US in 2016 on charges of bank fraud and money laundering also came to mind. Following his arrest, Zarrab had provided important information as a cooperating witness.
