İbrahim Tatlıses has filed a lawsuit against his son, alleging that he opened a venue named 'Tatlıses Kebap' by using the 'Tatlıses' brand, which belongs to him, without permission.

In his petition, the artist stated that his son is trying to benefit from the positive reputation he built through his own efforts over the years without putting in any work himself, and claimed that Ahmet Tatlıses is misleading consumers and attempting to engage in unfair competition.

The petition included the following statements: "We request the determination, prevention, and cessation of Ahmet Tatlıses' unfair infringement on the 'Tatlıses' brand belonging to our client. We want Ahmet Tatlıses to not use the 'Tatlıses' brand in any way."

'I OPERATED HIS BRANCHES FOR 20 YEARS'

Ahmet Tatlıses, who is now in a legal battle with his father, told Yeni Günaydın the following:

"I will not change the Tatlıses brand. My surname is Tatlıses... Whenever Mr. İbrahim wants to do something new or wants to be in the news, he makes baseless claims about me. I operated the Tatlıses kebab and çiğ köfte branches for 20 years. The moment I stopped, that's when it became a disaster. In fact, in recent months, the çiğ köfte factory he operates himself was sealed for operating under substandard conditions. Mr. İbrahim is using heavy medication, so he can no longer keep up with these matters either."

'I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS ATTITUDE'

Continuing his remarks, Tatlıses said, "I had a 10 percent partnership with him in terms of food companies, and he even took that away from me, yet I remained silent. I will continue to provide service under the name Tatlıses because I put in as much effort as he did. Besides, for years, only my branches have existed specifically for kebabs; I do not understand why he has this attitude now as if it were something new.

I have 2 branches, and I will expand my branches even further. We will have branches in every region of Turkey. We are doing whatever is required by custom regarding this. I cannot change my first and last name just because he wants me to," he said.
