First statement from Bilal Hancı after cheating on his wife Esin Çepni

Footage of famous social media personality Bilal Hancı kissing a woman at a nightclub was sent to his wife, Esin Çepni.

Watching that footage, Esin Çepni expressed the shock she experienced with these words:

"I always tried to stand strong; even if my tongue had a tough shell, my heart was bleeding inside. Today I understood that one should fear those who cry on the outside. Those you think are compassionate and decent are the ones who actually do the dirty work. Tonight, boiling water was poured over my head. I saw the reason with my own eyes. I want you to see it too!"

Following this footage, the first statement came from Bilal Hancı. Hancı used the expressions, "We were not yet formally divorced. I know that this footage does not suit me and that I should never have done it. I would not have wanted to appear before you with such an ugly incident."

The full text of Bilal Hancı's 'betrayal' statement:

"I would like to state that I am very sad about the events that have taken place. We had been in the process of divorce for a while, and our case was heard on Thursday, October 19, by mutual agreement, and the judge issued a divorce ruling. However, the decision had not yet been formally finalized. The shared footage was taken after this date at an entertainment venue under the influence of alcohol. I certainly know that this footage does not suit me and that I should never have done it. I would not have wanted to appear before you with such an ugly incident.

However, the reason for our divorce was in no way based on betrayal or cheating; there was unhappiness within our marriage. I informed Esin of my decision to separate, and Esin respected my decision, and we appeared before the judge by mutual agreement. At the point I have reached today, I first of all apologize to Esin, Esin's family, her friends, my own family and friends around me, and to you, the esteemed Turkish public. I am very sad and regretful for the situation I have caused."
