Francis Ford Coppola's 'The Conversation' to be adapted into a series

The 1974 film "The Conversation", directed by Francis Ford Coppola—known for works such as the "Godfather" series, "Bram Stoker's Dracula," and "Apocalypse Now"—is being adapted into a series. 

According to a report by Indiewire, the series will feature a female lead. It has been suggested that J.C. Chandor will take the director's chair for the series. 

"The Conversation," which Coppola filmed between the first two "The Godfather" movies, starred actors including Gene Hackman, Harrison Ford, John Cazale, Phoebe Alexander, Frederic Forrest, Cindy Williams, Elizabeth MacRae, Allen Garfield, Teri Garr, Michael Higgins, Robert Shields, and Mark Wheeler. 

THE PLOT OF THE CONVERSATION

Harry, an expert surveillance specialist, is tasked by a mysterious and powerful employer to follow and spy on a young couple. As he records their conversations on tape, Harry begins to suspect that the couple is about to fall victim to a murder.

Caught between his own complex inner world and the unhealthy aspects of his reclusive life, as well as bad experiences from his past, Harry becomes obsessively involved with the job at hand.

As he begins to question his work, paranoia starts to take hold of him.
