10 million lira compensation lawsuit against Metin Akpınar from his daughter Duygu Nebioğlu! Uğur Dündar heard as a witness

Journalist Uğur Dündar was heard as a witness in the 10 million lira compensation lawsuit filed against the famous actor Metin Akpınar, one of the leading figures of Turkish cinema, by his daughter Duygu Nebioğlu, who was born from an extramarital affair.

In his testimony, Dündar said, "I learned that Duygu Nebioğlu was Metin Akpınar's daughter from reports reflected in the media. I have no information regarding the period before that. I worked at the newspaper for 25 years starting from 1986, and I also produced television programs. During my time at the newspaper, I had no knowledge whatsoever that he had a daughter by Akpınar."

TWIN DAUGHTERS HAD EMERGED

It had emerged that the master actor Metin Akpınar had twin daughters named Duygu Nebioğlu and Sevgi Nebioğlu from an extramarital relationship.

While Duygu Nebioğlu, who confirmed that she was the biological daughter of the 82-year-old artist through a DNA test and a court ruling, filed a 10 million lira compensation lawsuit against her father for 'not embracing paternity' and 'failing to fulfill paternal duties', Akpınar had said regarding the matter, "It was a one-night stand, I did not know I had children."

Accusing the famous actor, Nebioğlu stated, "My father was aware of our existence from the very first day. I even think my father organized the process of us being placed in an orphanage. My father may have covered up some things at that time, but the truth has come out. He tried to humiliate us with a press statement he made in front of the whole country. I don't want these actions of his to go unpunished. That is why I filed a 10 million TL lawsuit against my father. Uğur Dündar also submitted a petition to the court to testify in favor of Akpınar. Uğur Dündar says he has never seen or known my mother in his life, but at the same time, he wants to be a witness by submitting a petition to our lawsuit against my father. It is a classic case of 'the boza seller's witness is the shira seller'."

UĞUR DÜNDAR GAVE TESTIMONY

According to the report by Sabah, Uğur Dündar's testimony was accepted in the compensation lawsuit heard at the Akseki Civil Court of First Instance. Dündar gave his testimony today at 12:30 PM at the Beykoz 4th Civil Court of First Instance, following an instruction sent to the Beykoz Courthouse.

Journalist Dündar, who said he learned that Duygu Nebioğlu was Metin Akpınar's daughter from reports in the media, stated the following:

"I have no information regarding the period before that. I worked at the newspaper for 25 years starting from 1986, and I also produced television programs. During my time at the newspaper, I had no knowledge whatsoever that he had a daughter by Akpınar. Furthermore, I am unaware of any such news coming to the newspaper and not being published. If such news had come, Çetin Emeç, who is a martyr of the press and was the editor-in-chief at the time, had the integrity to publish it even if his own brother's name were involved in such a thing. Moreover, such news definitely did not circulate within the newspaper. There was tremendous competition in the press at that time. Let's say the news came to the newspaper and was overlooked; rival newspapers would have easily published it. Besides, such censorship is not within my knowledge."

Duygu Nebioğlu's lawyer, who made a statement after the hearing, stated that the witness who was the Kemer correspondent of that period, who was heard in Antalya, told the court that he had conveyed the news to the general manager of the newspaper but the news was not published.
