A striking detail in Ferdi Tayfur's will! The master artist's funeral schedule has changed

Ferdi Tayfur, the legendary name of arabesque music who etched himself into memory with songs such as "Hatıran Yeter," "Ben de Özledim," "İçim Yanar," "Bana Sor," "Yaktı Beni," and "Sabahçı Kahvesi," has passed away at the age of 79 in the hospital where he was receiving treatment. It was learned that the master artist passed away in the evening hours due to organ failure.

While the news of Ferdi Tayfur's death plunged the art world into mourning, his loved ones flocked to the hospital. The body of Ferdi Tayfur, who passed away in Antalya, was brought to Istanbul by plane.

FERDİ TAYFUR'S FUNERAL SCHEDULE CHANGED

A ceremony will be held for the master artist today (January 4) at 12:00 PM at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM).

Tayfur's funeral prayer was moved to the Levent Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa Mosque due to concerns that the courtyard of the mosque in Emirgan would be too small and could lead to overcrowding.

Following the memorial service, the funeral prayer will be held during the afternoon (ikindi) prayer. Ferdi Tayfur will be laid to rest at the Yeniköy Family Cemetery.

Following Ferdi Tayfur's death, his will has come to light.

In an interview the master artist gave to Sabah writer Tuba Kalçık in 2020, he responded as follows to the question, "Would you like your life to be made into a film?":

"I DO NOT WANT MY LIFE TO BE FILMED"

"I do not want my life to be filmed after I die. Documentaries about me have already been made to this day. Our people already know everything about me. I have always made my art with my heart and with sincerity. The public notices this best. That sincerity and love created a strong bond between us. And that bond will never be broken."

'MY CHILDREN DID NOT MAKE THOSE SONGS, I DID'

In another conversation regarding his will, Tayfur had expressed the following regarding the copyrights of his songs:

"I will say that everyone should be able to listen to my songs without paying, both while I am alive and after I die. Because my children or heirs did not make those songs. I made those songs, and I made them so the public could hear them and people could benefit from them."

Although these statements were voiced by Tayfur, it is unknown whether this will was officially recorded.

HE HAD BEEN IN A LEGAL DISPUTE WITH HIS DAUGHTER

Ferdi Tayfur and his daughter Tuğçe Tayfur were most recently in a legal dispute due to an argument they had during the summer months. Due to the surname crisis that erupted between the two, Tayfur did not attend his daughter's wedding and did not go to see his first grandchild.
