Could not be brought to Turkey: Ahu Tuğba's funeral arrangements announced
The funeral arrangements for veteran Yeşilçam actress Ahu Tuğba, who passed away in Miami on September 1, have been announced.
Ahu Tuğba, a master name of Yeşilçam, has passed away at her home in Miami at the age of 69.
Ahu Tuğba was involved in a traffic accident last April and underwent treatment in intensive care for 3 weeks following an 8-hour surgery.
A series of problems had arisen regarding the repatriation of the master actor's body, who passed away on September 1, 2024.
The funeral of the famous figure could not be brought to Turkey for a long time.
Anjelik Calvin, the daughter of Ahu Tuğba, has made a statement regarding the matter.
FUNERAL CEREMONY AT TEŞVİKİYE
Anjelik Calvin stated, "She will depart from America on Thursday (today) and will be in Istanbul on Friday. We are planning to hold the funeral ceremony on Saturday at Teşvikiye Mosque. Please make sure to announce this; I want my mother to be laid to rest accompanied by prayers."
Because the death of Ahu Tuğba, who suffered from COPD, was considered suspicious, autopsy procedures were delayed and the funeral transport arrangements could not be completed, leading her daughter Anjelik Calvin to express her outrage on social media.
TO BE LAID TO REST BESIDE HER MOTHER
Calvin stated that the procedures have been completed. Ahu Tuğba will be laid to rest beside her mother in Zincirlikuyu.
