Ahu Tuğba was involved in a traffic accident last April and underwent treatment in intensive care for 3 weeks following an 8-hour surgery.
A series of problems had arisen regarding the repatriation of the master actor's body, who passed away on September 1, 2024.
The funeral of the famous figure could not be brought to Turkey.
Anjelik Calvin, the daughter of Ahu Tuğba, made a statement regarding the matter on her social media account.
In a statement regarding her mother's funeral, Anjelik said the following:
"I WILL PROVIDE THE CORRECT DATE"
"A date for the funeral was never set. The US DEPARTMENT OF STATE has not yet sent my new American passport. I was born in the US, and my Turkish passport and visa are almost non-existent.
We will wait a few more days during this process to avoid any problems at the country's borders. I am reading your condolences and prayers. May God be pleased with you all. Do not pay attention to any statements.
You, his loved ones, are very precious. I will certainly inform his friends of the funeral date and time from here. You will hear this from me, of course, not from the news. There is no finalized date or mosque yet. I will announce the correct date."
