Famous singer Metin Arolat has passed away due to a heart attack at a hotel in Istanbul where he was performing.

After feeling unwell on stage, Arolat first took a break, during which he mentioned that his left arm had gone numb before returning to the stage. However, Arolat soon fell ill again and collapsed.

The first intervention for Arolat was performed by a nurse who was among the audience.

Arolat was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance. Arolat, whose heart stopped 3 times on the way, could not be saved despite all interventions.

According to a report by Buse Özel from Hürriyet, it has been alleged that the 52-year-old artist, who suffered a heart attack, was using both injections and pills to lose weight.

Following the funeral prayer held at Teşvikiye Mosque yesterday after the noon prayer, Arolat's body was sent to his hometown of İzmir.

It has been learned that a funeral prayer for Arolat will also be held today at the İzmir Beşikçioğlu Mosque and that the artist will be laid to rest at the Karşıyaka Cemetery.
